Pastor Ed is from Canton, Ohio and is a graduate of Kent State University and Fuller Theological seminary in Pasadena, California. Rev. Vinson previously pastored Church of the Master in Canton for ten years. He has been at Shiloh Chapel EFC since July of 1998. Pastor Ed is married to Cathy and they have two sons, Philip and Kyle. In 1945, a small group of people had a vision to start an Evangelical Friends Church in a storefront in Marysville, Ohio. That ministry continues to carry on in Marysville today.
Shiloh Chapel EFC is a growing congregation of about 300+. Each Sunday morning we offer three worship services to meet the different tastes of our attenders.
Our Traditional Service (8:30AM) is a smaller gathering comprised of singing hymns (accompanied by piano and organ), prayer, and sermon.
Our two Contemporary Service (9:45 & 11:00AM) includes an upbeat worship time led by a praise band, corporate prayer, and a sermon.
To achieve our purpose of fully committed followers of Christ, our goal for those we reach is that they would reach "home plate".
1st Base
I have completed class 101, "Welcome to Shiloh Chapel". I have committed my life to Christ.
2nd Base
I have completed class 201, "How to Grow as a Christian". I am spending quiet time with God in Bible study and prayer. I am a responsible steward of all God's resources to me. I am attending a Sunday School class, Wednesday program, or a small group.
3rd Base
I have completed class 301, "Finding My Spiritual Gift". I am serving in a ministry in my church or community. I am participating in ongoing training for ministry. I am mentoring a future leader.
Home Plate
I have completed class 401, "How to Share My Faith". I am living an authentic Christian life. I am building relationships with unchurched people.
